Gary Robinson and Noli Taylor have undertaken efforts to prepare Up-Island residents in the event they are separated from the rest of the island in a large-scale storm or disaster. Starting with CPR and First Aid, Gary and Noli will bring additional courses to help residents learn how to shelter in place, set up and facilitate a shelter, as well as carry out search and rescue.  If you are interested in learning more about CERT, or want to be notified when more trainings are offered, please contact Gary Robinson at (716) 553-6246.

This opt in questionnaire will support our efforts by collecting specifics about special needs which will provide valuable information to help plan our responses and personnel needs during a large-scale disaster. Moreover, the MRC initiative includes all people, regardless of age, from every island town.  If you are living alone, are elderly or disabled, if you have a mental illness or are dependent on oxygen, health care staff, medications or electricity, and you think you may need help with these issues during a disaster, fill out the MRC questionnaire, and mail it to: mvmedicalreservecorps@gmail.com. You can also contact Medical Reserve Corps nurse, Karen MacPhail,  kkelenosy@aol.com or call (508)645-2105 for more information.
